Little O had his last game last night. He had a wonderful experience and his coaches were great. His team may not have won a single game, but they had a great time the whole season. The highlight of the season had to be when a little man got his first hit ever and later scored! I think the whole team (and parents) celebrated an entire inning. Here are some pictures from the last game. You will notice there are more of Little M than of the baseball player. It was the only way I could make M stay in one place.

Another sports season comes to an end...
Little O decided to play baseball for the very first time this fall. I will admit that I was against it at first. It wasn't that I didn't want him to play, but Big T was playing football this fall too. I knew that I could not be in two places at once. However, Jim and I found a way to juggle the games and we survived...just like everyone who faces the same problem.

Watch out Jonas Brothers!
This morning I walked down the stairs to get my children ready for church. What I saw made me laugh and I had to get the camera! The Jonas Brothers better watch out! The Markel Brothers are starting a band!
I guess these two will have to fight to see who will be the lead singer! I think the little one may have a little more stage presence. Check out the Mardi Gras beads to give him a little extra BLING!
Time for a wardrobe change! Those costumes can be tricky when you are changing in a hurry!
This look is for the ladies and for when he is really ready to ROCK!
Not quite two years old and he is already trying to play the guitar with his teeth!
Who says you can't look cool and have a paci at the same time? And yes, we did make it to church on time! Praise the Lord!

The Tooth Fairy Cometh
Our little nest had a big weekend. We watched the Derby...and lost. We went to a draw down raffle...and lost. And speaking of loosing, Little O lost his very first tooth. He even pulled the tooth all by himself (however, it was just hanging by a "thread"?)
I think the corn on the cob gave the tooth that extra push it needed to come out!
I am pulling my first tooth!
Oh my gosh! I am pulling my first tooth!
I did it!

I have decided to try open shelving in our kitchen. I hate our cabinets! It doesn't matter what color I paint them or if I glaze them. I just do not like them! Since the new trend seems to be open shelves in the kitchen, I thought I would give it a try. I have been using these photos as inspiration.

If you have not stumbled across The Lettered Cottage you must go to it now! Layla and her husband have transformed their home and have been gracious enough to share what they have learned along the way. She has wonderful ideas for those of us who are on a budget, and I just loved what she did to the kitchen. Click here to visit her website.
I have removed the doors from four of our kitchen cabinets. I still need to hid the sippy cups and Tupperware so those doors will stay. We are taking Layla's advice and we will be adding trim around the cabinets and on each shelf. I promise to post the before and after pictures once the project is complete. (hopefully, next week!)
Here is another project I have going...(wouldn't be me if I did things one at a time) :)
My husband built this table by using the plans from Knock-Off Wood. If there is a piece of furniture that you would love for your home but don't want to pay the high price tag, she has the plan for you. Her furniture plans are inspired by Pottery Barn. This is our second project we have built using Ana's plans. We started out by building bookshelves. It was so much fun and her plans were very easy to follow. I highly recommend that you hop on over to her site and see what she has to offer. You can either click here or on her website above. Check back later for a post devoted just to Ana's site.

Baptisms, Pollen, and Soap
one more added to the flock |
This was a very busy and special weekend for us. Our little M was baptised on Sunday, and our good friends, K and R and their children, were there to help us celebrate. K and R graciously agreed to be little M's Godparents, and after the service we enjoyed a great afternoon outside eating and watching the children play.
Before the service began, a man from the church asked if M would cry during the service. My reply was "most definatly". (M is very attached to his momma and doesn't like to go to anyone until he has spent a few hours with them.) The man said, "Oh, he will be fine! We haven't had a baby cry in years!" So of course you know what happened! I had to hold the baby while Father Matt poured the water over his head. Little M screamed when he annointed him with oil. Finally, at the end of the service, he was sucking his paci so hard that I thought he might swallow it. So much for the church record!
In other news....
This weekend we also took a trip to a town not too far away to buy goat milk soap. The lady who makes the soap is so nice and she said we could come pet the baby goats when we come back. I am a true believer in goat milk "magic". It has worked wonders for baby M's skin and mine. I will post more about the wonderful soap and share pictures with you too.
Finally...
Pollen, pollen everywhere! We are hurting here at our nest! It is beautiful outside, however, our allergies have kicked in. I took a couple of picture of the culprits who have been the cause of our headaches lately.
